Soap Recipes Without Palm Oil: Give Yourself a Beauty Treat

There are different opinions on palm oil and its usage in our everyday life. If you are allergic to palm oil or believe that it is better to avoid it why not trying our soap recipes without palm oil? Lotion bar with beeswax

Not only does this soap contain beeswax,but also one of the best products for our skin according to Doctor Oz, and it is Shea butter.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp of Shea butter
  • 2 tbsp of almond oil (sweet)
  • 2 tbsp of calendula oil
  • 3 tbsp of beeswax in pellets
  • 2 tbsp of cocoa butter (regular)
  • 1/4 tsp of vitamin E acetat
  • Few drops of essential oils (if you prefer)

Equipment:

  • Mold for the soap
  • Measuring cup (preferably glass)
  • Pot
  • Stirring stick

Preparation:

Mix all the ingredients (except essential oils) together in the measuring cup till the uniform state and place the cup in the pot with water. Water should come up to at least half of the cup. Now heat the pot on medium fire and stir the mixture constantly. After around 5-7 minutes remove the mixture from the heat and if desired, add few drops of essential oils in it. Now pour your soap in the mold and let it cool for at least half an hour, then you can remove it from the mold and wrap in thin plastic or any other wrap you prefer.

Soap with goat milk

This soap contains coconut oil,which is considered to have numerous beneficial effects on our skin, according to Mercola.

Ingredients:

  • 1,5 cups of partially frozen goat milk
  • 6 tbsp of lye
  • 0,5 cups of olive oil (extra-virgin)
  • 0,5 cups  of coconut oil
  • 1,5 cups of vegetable shortening

Equipment:

  • Stirring stick
  • Protective mask and gloves
  • Thermometer
  • Electric hand blender
  • Spatula
  • Bowl
  • Molds for the soap

Preparation:

Firstly, put on your protection gloves and mask. Place the milk into the bowl and slowly add lye to it, then stir until the uniform state. The interaction of lye and milk will heat up the mixture. Then melt together the shortening and both oils in the pot and heat them till 95oC. When you reach the necessary temperature and condition, pour the mixture into milk and blend it until tracing occurs. After that, spatula is used for folding in order to get rid of air in the mixture. Now the soap can be poured in molds and after 24 hours taken out and left for cure, which will take around 2 weeks.

Rosemary Lavender Soap

Mother Earth News has a variety of soap recipes to offer among which is this lavender soap.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of glycerin soap base
  • Dried lavender flowers and rosemary leaves (preferably in form of infusion, then 1/4 cup is needed)
  • 1 1/2 tsp of lavender oil
  • 1/2 tsp of rosemary oil
  • Some dried rosemary leaves

Equipment:

  • Glass measuring cup
  • Pot
  • Stirring stick
  • Molds for the soap

Preparation:

Make an infusion with your dried lavender flowers and rosemary leaves (don’t forget to leave some aside though). Put the soap base in a glass measuring jar and place the jar in a pot, half-filled with water, then heat it on medium fire till the base becomes liquid. After that, add the oils and infusions and stir constantly until the mixture becomes uniform and all ingredients are distributed evenly. Right after such state is reached, pour your soap in molds and leave for a day. Then you may take the soap out and let it cure for few weeks.
