Introducing Coconut Oil to Your Diet: 4 Easy Yet Delicious Recipes

Now that we know coconut oil is beneficial for our health, we seek ways to add it to our everyday diet. We face the questions what dishes coconut oil is added to, what type of coconut oil to choose and whether these recipes using coconut oil are delicious.

When I looked for recipes using coconut oil I found numerous of them. Recipes using coconut oil can be divided into the following sections:

 I have tried a lot of different coconut oil recipes and want to share with you my favorite ones.

Recipe 1. Banana orange smoothie

Coconut oil is ideal for smoothie.

Take

one banana,

½ cup of orange juice,

3 tablespoons for melted virgin coconut oil,

one tablespoon of coconut cream concentrate,

3 tablespoons whole milk vanilla yogurt.

Blend everything in a blender. Very delicious!

Recipe 2. Apple chicken sauté

Take

4 chicken breasts,

2 red apples,

½ cup of virgin coconut oil,

1 tablespoon of sesame oil,

¼ cup of honey,

1 tablespoon of shredded ginger,

2 cups of mushrooms,

salt and pepper to taste.

Cut apples and chicken. Sauté chicken, oils, apples, ginger and honey about 8 minutes until apples are tender. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper. Sauté for more 5-6 minutes. Enjoy!

 

Recipe 3. Coconut oil French fries

You can use refined coconut oil for recipes with coconut oils when the taste of oil can negatively influence the taste of a dish.

2 1/2 pounds potatoes peeled and sliced into necessary for French fries slices,

1-1 1/2 cups coconut oil,

sea salt.

Soak peeled and cut potatoes in water for 8 hours. Afterwards dry with paper towels. Heat coconut oil to 300 degrees F on a skillet. Fry potatoes a little bit, remove from the skillet and let them cool. Heat coconut oil to 375 degrees F. Fry potatoes again until they are crispy. Salt them. Enjoy!

Recipe 4. Roasted cauliflower and broccoli

Take

1 cauliflower,

2 crowns broccoli,

3 tablespoons melted virgin coconut oil,

5 cloves garlic.

Make sure that your oven is preheated to 475 degrees F. Wash cauliflower and broccoli. Chop and place in a pan. Add coconut oil, strew with garlic. Stir 25 minutes. It is great with salmon, brown rice or French fries.

You see that coconut oil recipes are diverse. I want to give you some more recommendations on how to follow coconut oil recipes. Sometimes solid coconut oil is needed, sometimes melted one. It is much easier to measure coconut oil by weight. 1 tablespoon of coconut oil weighs about 13 grams, so you’d better weigh this amount and the quantity of coconut oil in recipes will be always precise.  When you add melted coconut oil be sure that other ingredients are warm enough not to solidify coconut oil.
