Have you ever heard of castor oil for stretch marks removal? Stretch marks are also called as Striae Atrophicae. According to Wikipedia they are a form of skin scarring. Typically they appear on breasts, thighs, hips, abdominal region or upper arms. Usually stretch marks are caused by the rapid skin stretching as a result of weight gain or growth. Pregnancy, puberty or hormone replacement therapy also induce stretch marks appearance. There are a lot of natural home treatments for avoiding and treating the stains, for example almond oil for stretch marks. Castor oil for stretch marks is one of them.

Castor oil and stretch marks

Castor oil is effective for skin care and treatment of skin diseases. The oil is applied to prevent fine lines, wrinkles, skin blemishes and age spots. The reason for this is that castor oil is a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, including the ricinoleic acid with a great number of benefits for skin as Wikipedia says. Castor oil for stretch marks is efficient too as the ricinoleic acid moisturizes the skin and makes skin cells more flexible. The oil nourishes the skin increasing its elasticity so it becomes less prone to stretch marks.  Moreover, castor oil stimulates blood circulation in the skin that makes it healthier.
